Comprising 13 extensive tracks and running for nearly 80 minutes, “Fire Waves” is the result of several decades of creation, featuring compositions that trace their origins back to the ’90s. This makes it a deeply personal and highly significant release for the Romanian Metal scene.

About GREEN EYES OF DARKNESS:
Doom Gothic Symphonic metal project, founded by two resilient metal veterans from Romania. Originally conceived by guitarist Dragoș Grigorescu (Abigail, Hovercraft, Serenity), the project truly began to take shape when his lifelong friends, bassist Cătălin “Flamă” Scânteie (Abigail, Rising Shadow, Hatemode) and vocalist Georgiana Bogdana Stoian (Vârf Carpatin) joined the lineup, bringing their full passion, dedication and creativity into the mix.
Today, Green Eyes of Darkness stands an open lineup project, that thrives on collaboration with talented artists from diverse backgrounds. Among those who have contributed to its evolving sound are: Alex Igor (vocals), Claudia Deleanu (vocals), Ștefania Ionescu (flute, vocals), Alina Rotaru (church organ), Alex Gomez (drums), Nunu Răcriș (drums) and others.
Their first release, Fire Waves, is the culmination of nearly five years of persistence and transformation and it gathers the most defining compositions created by Dragoș and Cătălin across distinct creative periods and recorded in different settings. Some of these songs had never been heard before, remaining as unfinished sketches, waiting for their time to come to life. Others were played live a few times in the late ’90s, but never recorded, while some early recordings were bound to the technical limitations of their time.
At its core, the symbolism of Fire Waves reflects the eternal conflict between creation and destruction. Waves rise and fall, collide and dissolve, but the sea beneath always remains calm and intact, untouched by the surface unrest. Same for the fire, it can kill, or ignite life, it can destroy or purify, but its deeper essence always transcends the momentary material transformation. The same philosophy defines the Green Eyes of Darkness project, their music defies patterns, refuses to follow formulas and fleeting trends. It is not crafted to be pleasant or easily understandable, but it is meant to endure, to transform and to leave a lasting impression on those who truly listen to unveil its inner truth, hard to perceive in a superficial approach.

Loud Rage Music prezintă viitorul album al misterioasei trupe de Symphonic Gothic Doom Metal din București, GREEN EYES OF DARKNESS. Format din 13 piese ample, cu o durată totală de aproape 80 de minute, “Fire Waves” este rezultatul a câteva decenii de creație, incluzând compoziții care își au originile încă din anii ’90. Acest lucru îl transformă într-un proiect profund personal și de o importanță deosebită pentru scena Metal din România.

Despre GREEN EYES OF DARKNESS:
Proiect Doom / Gothic/ Symphonic metal, fondat în 2022 de doi pasionați veterani ai metalului din România.
Conceput inițial de chitaristul Dragoș Grigorescu (Abigail, Hovercraft, Serenity), proiectul a început să prindă contur cu adevărat atunci când prietenii săi de-o viață, basistul Cătălin “Flamă” Scânteie (Abigail, Rising Shadow, Hatemode) și Georgiana Bogdana Stoian (Vârf Carpatin) s-au alăturat, participând cu întreaga lor pasiune, dăruire și creativitate.
Astăzi, Green Eyes of Darkness este un proiect cu o componeță deschisă care a beneficiat din plin de pe urma colaborării cu alți artiști din diverse medii muzicale. Printre cei care au contribuit la aceste înregistrări se numără: Alex Igor (voce), Claudia Deleanu (voce), Ștefania Ionescu (flaut, voce), Alina Rotaru (orgă de biserică), Alex Gomez (tobe), Nunu Răcriș (tobe) și alții.
Acest prim album, Fire Waves, reprezintă punctul culminant al unei perioade de aproape cinci ani de perseverență și transformare. Albumul unește într-o singură colecție cele mai definitorii compoziții create de Dragoș și Cătălin, în perioade creative distincte și înregistrate în contexte diferite. Unele dintre aceste piese nu au mai fost auzite niciodată până acum, existând undeva latent ca schițe neterminate, așteptând șansa lor de a prinde viață. Altele au fost interpretate live de câteva ori la sfârșitul anilor ’90, dar niciodată înregistrate, în timp ce pentru altele încă mai există câteva înregistrări vechi, marcate de limitările tehnice ale vremurilor respective.
În esență, simbolismul albumului Fire Waves reflectă conflictul etern dintre creație și dezintegrare. Valurile se ridică și cad, se ciocnesc și se dizolvă, dar marea de dedesubt rămâne mereu calmă, neschimbată, neatinsă de tulburările trecătoare de la suprafață. La fel și focul, acesta poate ucide sau susține viața, poate distruge sau poate purifica, dar esența sa profundă transcende întotdeauna transformarea materială de moment. Aceeași filozofie definește proiectul Green Eyes of Darkness, muzica lor sfidează tiparele, refuză să urmeze formule și tendințe trecătoare. Nu este creată pentru a fi plăcută sau ușor de înțeles, ci este menită să reziste, să transforme și să lase o amprentă durabilă asupra celor care au răbdarea să o asculte și să-i înțeleagă conținutul profund, greu de distins la o abordare superficială.
