Fresh off its exclusive premiere via Decibel Magazine, the latest video from Denver’s own extreme metal force Torn From Existence—“Tempted by the Necromancer”—continues to turn heads with its unholy fusion of blackened death metal and corporate dread.
The track appears on their acclaimed debut full-length Hearken the Darkened Skies, available now on LP, CD, and digital formats.
The video plunges viewers deep into the cold fluorescent glow of Existence Corp., where office drudgery gives way to ritual sacrifice, cursed spreadsheets, and HR gone hellbound. It’s a stylish descent into Lovecraftian bureaucracy, delivered with razor-sharp riffs, guttural vocals, and haunting synthscapes.
“Drudgery, futility, everything, nothing,” reflects guitarist and founder David A. Couch. “A typical day at the office begs the question—how can five miscreants with no marketable job skills and a history of musical malpractice survive the day?”
Vocalist and synth player Rhiannon Wisniewski adds: “Torn From Existence hopes you’re tempted to join our very official business team at Existence Corp., where we do everything metal… and not much else.”
Directed with theatrical flair and driven by sheer sonic force, “Tempted by the Necromancer” is a visual and auditory spectacle. According to Decibel,
“Torn From Existence aren’t here to sell you synergy. They’re here to drag you into the fluorescent-lit, soul-crushing purgatory of corporate metal hell—and they’re doing it in style.”
Formed in 2021 and forged in Denver’s underground, the band features David A. Couch, Rhiannon Wisniewski, Craig Rosplock (vocals), Bill Bohlen (bass), and Jeremiah Maynard (drums). Hearken the Darkened Skies was produced by Shane Howard at Sawn and Quartered Studios and has received praise for its immersive, genre-blurring approach to extreme metal.
