Hungarian-born melodic death metal project BalashToth has released the official music video for “x Judgement,” the powerful closing track from its debut full-length album, Equation II: The Antithesis of Life and Free Will, available now.

Drawing inspiration from At the Gates, Dimension Zero, The Haunted, Carcass, Dismember, while embracing the dark emotional weight of My Dying Bride and early Anathema, “x Judgement” showcases a different side of BalashToth’s songwriting. The track trades blistering speed for crushing atmosphere, slow-burning melodies, and haunting emotion without abandoning its melodic death metal roots.

One of the album’s most ambitious compositions, “x Judgement” features guest musician Adam Toth (Kajgün, The Dethroners, Art of Dethronement) on viola, whose arrangements add a rich cinematic depth that elevates the song’s emotional impact. The combination of mournful strings, heavy riffs, and bleak melodies creates a fitting conclusion to the album’s conceptual journey.

Lyrically, the song explores humanity’s willingness to surrender its own freedom, becoming active participants in systems of control and self-destruction. Serving as the thematic centerpiece and final chapter of the album, “x Judgement” brings the record’s exploration of identity, desire, mortality, and free will to its inevitable conclusion.

Released earlier this year, Equation II: The Antithesis of Life and Free Will completes the Anti-Life Equation storyline first introduced on the Anti-Life and =Equation= EPs. Across nine tracks, including an atmospheric instrumental interlude, BalashToth blends aggressive melodic death metal, old-school Swedish influences, thrash intensity, and introspective songwriting into its most expansive and accomplished work to date.

BalashToth is the solo creative vision of Balazs Toth, former guitarist of Hungarian melodic death metal outfit Casketgarden. After relocating to Ireland in 2012, Toth expanded his work beyond performance, studying music production and mixing while building the BalashToth name through YouTube content featuring covers, riff challenges, gear demonstrations, and production tutorials. Today, the project stands as a fully realized recording endeavor, with Toth handling guitars, production, mixing, and mastering.

The album also features the powerful vocal performance of Deathmetalvoicer, whose emotionally charged delivery complements the record’s blend of relentless aggression and philosophical depth.
